IKEA Zabrze Shopping Centre

General information

The opening of the new Zabrze shopping centre is planned in Q4 2019. In the vicinity there are many residential estates in the Zaborze district, which is very well communicated with other parts of the city. In the neighbourhood of the new investments are being built, such as Arabella Dom residential estate, which should be finished by Q2 2016. The planned shopping centre will attract customers with its wide range of retail outlets and recreational and entertainment zone. To meet the customers’ expectations, the new shopping centre will combine traditional Silesian design with Scandinavian architecture. The IKEA shopping centre will be a one-level structure where customers over 90,000 m² of GLA (including the IKEA store) will find around 135 retail units. It will be a medium-sized centre with a supermarket, a wide range of fashion and sports outlets and a number of supplementary interior design brands.

 

Location and access

The IKEA shopping centre will be built next to the DTŚ Regional Highway, which along with the A4 and A1 motorways, national road number 88 and other roads linking Warsaw, Krakow, Wrocław and Bielsko-Biała create a large network of connections between the biggest cities of the Upper Silesia agglomeration. Access to the new shopping centre will also be possible by a rebuilt public transport network.

 

Number of parking spaces

There will be 2500 parking spaces for those arriving by car.

 

Catchment area

The catchment area of the IKEA shopping centre in Zabrze within a 20-minute drive is over 373,000 inhabitants.

 

Project strengths/ additional information

An undoubted advantage of the project will be its location providing convenient accessibility by public transport. A recreational zone will be built nearby, so the project does not only attract people who want to do their everyday shopping but also those who want to spend their free time.
